Class I Div 2 is not a IEC classification - the IEC equivalent is Zone 2.

If you are working to IEC rules, then Ex e and Ex n are also acceptable options.  If the system is Ex i, then the jb does not need to be certified.

And I wouldn't say it's easy to fabricate an Ex d IIC T6 junction box.  Once you do have it fabricated, the next problem is to get it certified as meeting the requirements - alo not a trivial process.
